Foot Care Kit for Diabetes:
Help Prevent Amputations - 1998 edition

Diabetes is the leading cause of amputation of the lower limbs. As many as half of these amputations, however, might be prevented through simple but effective foot care practices. Early identification of high risk feet and early intervention to prevent foot problems from worsening will help reduce the number of amputations. Good foot care is an essential part of diabetes management - for patients as well as for health care providers. If you are a health care provider or a person with diabetes, here are some materials to help you prevent amputations.
